ROG Ally and Legion Go not charging: USB-C power checks

Contributed by CircuitScope research team · Added 09 Oct 2026 · 1 views

When a Windows handheld will not charge, the usual causes are an under-powered charger, a battery that needs reconnecting or replacing, or debris or damage at the soldered USB-C port. On the ROG Ally, a loose back cover can also stop charging because it exposes a sensor. Check the charger and LED, read a USB meter, then open and check the battery before suspecting the board.
