About this component
Runs the user's sketch and the serial bootloader, clocked at 16 MHz from the external crystal. All the Nano's digital and analogue header pins come straight from this chip. A chip that has lost its bootloader can be recovered through the 6-pin ICSP header with an external programmer before you consider replacing it.
