ESP32-WROOM-32
About this component
Holds the ESP32-D0WDQ6 chip, 4 MB SPI flash, a 40 MHz crystal and the antenna under one metal can; the DevKitC simply breaks its pads out to two headers. Pins 17–22 are used by the internal flash, so connecting anything to them makes the module crash or fail to boot. GPIO0, 2, 5, 12 and 15 are strapping pins: external circuits that pull them the wrong way at reset are a common cause of 'won't boot' or 'won't flash' complaints. The schematic labels this module D2. Part variants: DevKitC V4 has shipped with several modules: ESP32-WROOM-32 (original, now NRND), WROOM-32D, WROOM-32U, WROOM-32E, WROOM-32UE, WROVER-E, WROVER-IE, SOLO-1 and WROOM-DA. Check the module's shield marking.
Dual-core Xtensa SoC with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, in a shielded module.
