About this component
Connects the micro-USB port to the ESP32's UART0 (TXD0/RXD0). Its DTR and RTS outputs drive two SS8050 transistors that pulse EN and GPIO0, which lets flashing tools put the ESP32 into download mode without pressing buttons. If the computer sees no serial port at all, check this chip and its driver; if the port appears but flashing times out, check the transistor auto-boot circuit and the EN/BOOT capacitors. Labelled U1 on the schematic. Part variants: The seed's 'CP2102' is the older part; Espressif's V4 schematic specifies the CP2102N-A02 in QFN-28.
