About this component
The Xbox CPU is a lightly customised Coppermine-core Pentium III running at 733 MHz, with the L2 cache cut to 128 KB (half that of a retail Coppermine chip). It sits on a 133 MHz GTL+ front-side bus to the NV2A, which acts as both GPU and northbridge, so the CPU has no direct link to RAM. It uses the Micro-PGA2 footprint but is soldered straight to the motherboard as a BGA, so it is not socketed or easily swapped. The seed's mention of Tualatin is wrong: retail Xboxes use a Coppermine-based part (CPU upgrade mods with Tualatin chips exist, but that is aftermarket).
