Samsung K4D263238M-QC50
About this component
Four 16 MB DDR chips give the Xbox its 64 MB of memory, shared by the CPU and GPU through the NV2A memory controller. Early boards (1.0–1.4) have four empty pads beside them, which is what the well-known 128 MB upgrade fills; 1.6 boards need a different method. Being leaded TQFP parts, they can be reworked with a fine iron and flux, unlike the BGA memory on later consoles. If you replace a chip, match the die revision and speed grade to the others on the board. Part variants: Samsung K4D263238 used on 1.0–1.4 boards (M-die on 1.0, D-die on 1.2, F-die on 1.4 per xboxdevwiki); 1.6 boards used Samsung at first, later Hynix HY5DU283222AQ-5 ('1.6b').
64MB unified DDR memory.
