About this component
The Series S SoC is a smaller sibling of the Series X chip, about 197 mm². It has the same 8-core Zen 2 CPU, clocked a little lower (3.6 GHz, 3.4 GHz with SMT), and a 20 CU RDNA 2 GPU at about 1.565 GHz giving roughly 4 TFLOPS. It drives a 128-bit-plus-32-bit GDDR6 setup and includes the same SSD decompression hardware as the Series X. It is soldered BGA under a single heatsink; a failed SoC usually means a board replacement.
What it does on this board
