About this component

This chip is the 256 KB 'external' work RAM (EWRAM), on a 16-bit bus with wait states, so it is slower than the 32 KB inside the SoC (the seed's '32KB internal' is in the CPU, not this chip). Games use it for large buffers and data. A failing EWRAM usually causes crashes or a white screen after the boot logo. Part variants: Found on an AGB-CPU-10 board (2002). Other boards may use other vendors' 128K x 16 SRAMs, e.g. NEC D442012 seen in a GBA SP.

What it does on this board

32KB fast internal WRAM and 256KB external WRAM.
