About this component
This is the only RAM chip on the Game Boy Color mainboard and provides the 32 KB of banked work RAM; the 16 KB of video RAM in the seed is inside the CPU CGB, not on this chip. A failing work RAM typically freezes games or causes crashes at the boot logo. Part variants: Most units use Sharp LH52256CVT; some 2000-built units use LH51D256T-Z5 or LH51D256T-Z7.
