About this component

The GameCube's main memory is 1T-SRAM, a DRAM-based design with SRAM-like low latency, made up of two 12 MB chips next to Flipper. It runs at 324 MHz on a 64-bit bus for about 2.6 GB/s. A separate 16 MB DRAM (ARAM) on a slow 8-bit bus buffers audio and disc data; the seed note's '16MB auxiliary DRAM' is that chip, not part of this one. Memory faults typically give a black screen or crash at boot. Part variants: Main memory is two 12 MB 1T-SRAM chips; the 16 MB ARAM is a separate DRAM chip.

What it does on this board

24MB fast 1T-SRAM plus 16MB auxiliary DRAM.
