About this component

The RIOT supplies all 128 bytes of the 2600's work RAM, reads the joysticks and console switches through its two 8-bit ports, and provides the programmable timer games use to time the vertical blanking period. A faulty RIOT typically shows as crashes, garbage or unresponsive controls.
