About this component

The Series X's 16 GB is built from ten GDDR6 chips around the SoC: six 2 GB and four 1 GB parts, giving 10 GB that runs across the full 320-bit bus at 560 GB/s and 6 GB that runs at 336 GB/s. Because the two chip sizes look alike, check the marking before replacing one so the 2 GB and 1 GB positions are not mixed up. They are BGA parts on the SoC board and need hot-air or preheater rework. Part variants: These are Micron FBGA marking codes seen in iFixit's teardown, not full ordering numbers. 16 GB is made from six 2 GB and four 1 GB chips on a 320-bit bus. Other units may use Samsung GDDR6 (Samsung was used on dev kits); not confirmed for retail.

What it does on this board

16GB GDDR6 (10GB fast + 6GB standard split).
