ATI Hollywood
About this component
Hollywood is a multi-die package: one die holds the GPU, memory controllers and I/O, another holds the 24 MB of 1T-SRAM (MEM1), and the original version also has a small EEPROM die. It includes Starlet, an ARM926EJ-S core running IOS, which handles security, NAND, Wi-Fi, USB, SD and disc access. Many 'black screen' or 'won't read discs' faults are software or NAND related rather than a Hollywood failure. Later 65 nm Hollywood-1 boards run cooler. Part variants: Hollywood (90 nm, multi-die) on RVL-CPU-01; 'Hollywood AA' on RVL-CPU-20; Hollywood-1 (65 nm, GPU and 1T-SRAM merged on one die) on RVL-CPU-40 and later, including Wii Family Edition and Wii mini.
243MHz GPU package integrating memory, I/O and the "Starlet" security ARM core.
