Samsung K4Y50164UE-JCB3
About this component
The XDR chips are the Cell's main memory, running at 3.2 GHz effective over a dual-channel link. The GDDR3 chips surround the RSX and serve as video memory. The memory chips themselves rarely fail; most 'RAM' faults on PS3s turn out to be Cell or RSX solder problems. This seed groups two separate memory pools; the moderator may want to split them. Part variants: XDR: four Samsung K4Y50164UE-JCB3 (512 Mb each) on an early unit (Hardware Secrets). GDDR3 for RSX: Samsung K4J52324QC-SC14 or Qimonda HYB18H512322AF-14 on 90 nm boards; later Samsung K4G10325FG-HC15 or Elpida W1132BBBG-28-E-F (psdevwiki). Other XDR vendors (e.g. Elpida) likely on later boards but not confirmed.
256MB XDR system RAM and 256MB GDDR3 video RAM.
