U5
TDA19988
IC
HDMI framer
About this component
Takes the processor's 24-bit parallel LCD bus plus audio and sends it out of the micro-HDMI port; it is backwards compatible with DVI 1.0. A 24.576 MHz oscillator (Y4) supplies the audio clock. Its LCD pins are shared with the P8 expansion header, so the HDMI function must be disabled before using those pins for capes. No picture with a working board usually means a configuration (device tree/overlay) issue rather than a failed chip. Part variants: The SRM states that the non-HDCP version is fitted; the exact ordering suffix was not confirmed.
What it does on this board
