About this component

The southbridge carries the 360's slower I/O: SATA for the hard drive and DVD drive, USB, the wireless controller link, audio and front-panel functions. It connects to the northbridge inside the GPU (or XCGPU on Slims) over a link of about 0.5 GB/s. Its design changed across the board revisions: Jasper-era boards use the PSB, and Corona drops the separate HANA chip by folding its video functions into the newer KSB. When ordering a replacement, match the exact Microsoft X-number and revision to the board. Part variants: Changes across revisions: original southbridge (SiS-designed) on early boards; HANA video scaler added from Zephyr; 'PSB' southbridge (e.g. Microsoft X817692-002 marked PSB on the 360 S Trinity board); Corona merged HANA's job into the revised 'KSB' southbridge.
