About this component
The Graphics Synthesizer rasterises the polygons prepared by the Emotion Engine. Its 4 MB of embedded DRAM sits on a very wide internal bus, which gives it its high fill rate. On the first fat boards it carries a metal heat spreader and runs hot (about 19 W). From GH-035 to GH-052 it is part of the combined EE+GS chip. Part variants: CXD2934GB (GH-001 to GH-016, some), CXD2944GB (GH-004 to GH-013, some), CXD2949(B)GB (GH-015, GH-017 to GH-023), CXD2949CGB (GH-023 to GH-032), CXD2949DGB (GH-032 to GH-041); merged into EE+GS on GH-035 to GH-052; separate again as CXD2980-series on GH-061 to GH-072.
