About this component

The south bridge sits between the APU and the console's slower I/O. It has its own DDR4 chip and handles rest-mode tasks such as downloads, much like the PS4's Aeolia/Belize. A fault here can stop the console booting or kill USB and network together. Part variants: Same part on EDM-010 and EDM-BK21 per psdevwiki. Paired with 512 MB DDR4 (SK Hynix H5AN4G8NBJR-UHC or Samsung K4A4G085WF-BCTD).

What it does on this board

USB, network and system I/O.
