About this component

The MAX77620 generates most of the SoC and system supply rails, handles power-up sequencing and the real-time clock, and is controlled by the Tegra over I2C. The CPU/GPU core rails come from a separate sub-PMIC (MAX77621 on Erista, MAX77812 on Mariko). A Switch that draws no current or will not power on after a bad charger or liquid damage often has a failed PMIC or shorted rail around it. The Erista (A) and Mariko (H) variants are programmed differently, so use the variant matching the board. Part variants: MAX77620AEWJ on Erista; MAX77620HEWJ on Mariko. Erista adds a MAX77621AEWI sub-PMIC, Mariko a MAX77812EWB.

What it does on this board

Primary power-management controller for the SoC rails.
