About this component

The SoC carries the CPU, GPU, memory controller and most I/O for the console. Erista boards use the 20 nm T210 (marked ODNX02-A2); Mariko boards use the 16 nm T214 (ODNX10-A1), which runs cooler and draws less power, so the two are not interchangeable and need different board-level support (Mariko pairs it with a MAX77812 sub-PMIC instead of the MAX77621). The chip sits under a heatsink and thermal paste or pad; reballing or replacement needs a donor chip of the same revision. Although the die has four Cortex-A53 cores, the Switch only uses the four A57 cores. Part variants: ODNX02-A2 (Tegra X1, T210) on launch HAC-001 'Erista' boards; ODNX10-A1 (Tegra X1+, T214 / T210B01) on HAC-001(-01) 'Mariko' boards.

What it does on this board

Custom NVIDIA Tegra: 4× ARM Cortex-A57 + 4× A53 CPU and a Maxwell GPU. T210 on Erista, T214 on Mariko.
